Marc-Antoine Charpentier was, in my opinion, one of the greatest composers of Baroque church music. Sadly, he had the misfortune to live in an era when music of phenomenal quality was being produced all over the place - if you want to achieve status and fame as a composer, it isn't easy when you are a contemporary of the likes of Bach and Handel. :-)
Anyway, please enjoy a wonderful Baroque Mass setting, especially for the feast of Our Lady's Assumption.
